This Privacy Policy explains how Nick Sailer Law, P.C. handles information collected through nicksailerlaw.com and through communications with our office, including text messages. Using this site or contacting our office does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential information until we have confirmed in writing that we represent you.

I. Information We Collect

When you submit a form, request a consultation, call or email our office, or send a text message, we may collect your name, address, email address, telephone number, and the information you choose to share about your matter. Our web host and any analytics tools we use may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Payments are processed by a third-party provider; card and account details are not stored on this site.

II. How We Use Information

We use this information to respond to inquiries, run conflicts checks, provide legal services, communicate with clients about their matters (including scheduling, document requests, and status updates), process payments, and meet our legal, ethical, and recordkeeping obligations.

III. Text Messaging

Our office may exchange text messages with clients, prospective clients, and transaction participants who have provided a mobile number and agreed to be contacted that way. Messages relate to an inquiry or an active matter. This is not a marketing or mass-messaging program, and consent to text messaging is never a condition of receiving legal services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

IV. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing purposes. We share information only with your authorization or as necessary to carry out a representation, with the service providers who support our practice, with parties whose involvement is necessary to complete a transaction, and where disclosure is required or permitted by law or by the Iowa Rules of Professional Conduct.

V. Confidentiality and Security

Information we learn in a consultation or representation is protected by the attorney-client privilege and by our duty of confidentiality under Iowa Rules of Professional Conduct 32:1.6 and 32:1.18. Those duties are broader than this Policy and control where the two differ. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information in our possession, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and email and text message are not secure channels. Our office will not send or change wiring instructions by email or text; verify any wiring instructions by phone before transferring funds.

VI. Your Choices

You may ask what information our office holds about you, request correction of inaccurate information, decline cookies through your browser settings, opt out of text messages, or ask that our office contact you only by a method you designate. Certain records must be retained where required by law or by our professional obligations.
